A team from veterans’ mental health charity, Combat Stress will be taking part in the Cotswold 24 Hour endurance race to raise money for the charity.
On Saturday 22 July Charlotte Harvey, Charlotte Mackintosh, Jamie Clapton and Ian Hoy, four employees from the charity’s Shropshire based treatment centre, Audley Court, will join forces with Danny Hirst, a Combat Stress supporter to run as many 9k loops as possible within a 24 hour timeframe.
The Cotswold 24 Hour endurance race is an individual or team relay race held in the heart of the Cotswolds. The race is run over an off-road 9km mixed course including forest trails and open tarmac paths.
Charlotte Harvey, Volunteer & Fundraising Officer at Combat Stress said;
“We’re all so proud to work for such an amazing charity that helps veterans’ with mental health problems rebuild their lives.
“This is what encouraged us to take part in the Cotswold 24 Hour endurance race, it’s going to be a massive challenge, but it’s great to know the money that we raise will be used to ensure the charity can continue to support every veteran that comes to us for help.”
