What we provide
In many instances, Veterans will be admitted for short periods of treatment at one of our three residential centres – in Ayrshire, Shropshire and Surrey.
Individuals generally stay for up to two weeks at a time, although this may vary according to need.
These are comforting and comfortable places in which to heal – where Veterans can feel at home amongst others whose personal experiences are often very similar to their own.
At all three centres, treatment and care is delivered by a highly trained, multi-disciplinary team of psychiatrists, psychologists, psychotherapists, occupational therapists and nurse therapists.
Many have had direct experience of Service life themselves. All have respect for – and empathy with –the ethos of duty and sacrifice that generally sets Service personnel apart from their civilian counterparts.
We believe this understanding is central to the compassionate manner in which Veterans are cared for at Combat Stress.
