Fundraising
We are very proud to say that 89.4% of all our expenditure goes directly to the care and support of Veterans.
In total, the cost of running the two sides of our operation – short-stay treatment and community outreach – is approaching £10 million per year.
Funding for short-stay treatment
Of the money we receive each year, less than half comes from central and local government sources. Last year this paid for the treatment of 60% of the Veterans attending our three treatment centres.
We had to raise the 40% shortfall through public appeals (legacies and donations). We are grateful to the three Service Benevolent Funds that help us to the best of their ability.
Funding for community outreach
The community outreach side of our activities is heavily dependent on our fundraising efforts and the generosity of people like you. Charitable donations pay for the thousands of visits our Welfare Officers make each year to Veterans in their own homes.
There are many ways in which you can help us provide specialist care for Veterans who suffer from psychological wounds.
