Combat Stress was established in 1919. We are the UK’s leading charity for veterans’ mental health. For almost a century, we’ve helped former servicemen and women deal with trauma-related mental health conditions like post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anxiety and depression.

Today we provide UK-wide support to veterans from every service and every conflict, on the phone and online, in the community and at our treatment centres. We’re on a mission to raise awareness that invisible injuries can be just as hard to cope with as physical ones. So when a veteran is having a tough time, we’re there to help tackle the past and to take on the future.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our MDT Team as a band 5 Occupational Therapist.

Guided by the Specialist Occupational Therapist and working in a multi-disciplinary team, you will be responsible for the assessment, treatment and planning of veteran centred intervention, monitoring each veteran’s progress and adjusting the programmes as necessary. You will have the opportunity to contribute to a new and exciting recovery-based outpatient programme as part of a dynamic and supportive multidisciplinary team.

You must have a degree or equivalent in Occupational Therapy and be HCPC registered. You will need excellent foundation skills in Occupational Therapy, an interest in consolidating your skills in mental health and military veterans and be a strong team player.

The work we do is highly rewarding and you will have every opportunity to grow your professional experience in an environment committed to ongoing training and development.

What we offer

You will work within a charity that is growing and evolving at an exponential rate for the climate and one that has a fantastic cause and committed follower base.

In addition, we offer the following benefits;

  • 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, with an increase upon 5 years of continuous service
  • competitive stakeholder pension scheme - contributions matched up to 10%
  • childcare vouchers
  • discount shopping
