Our speaker

We're honoured that Major General Nick Perry, DSO, MBE will be speaking at the event.

Nick Perry has served in the British Army for 28 years. He joined in 1996 and spent the bulk of the next eight years as a tank commander. Having trained in Germany, Canada, Singapore, Poland and the US, he deployed on Operations to Bosnia in 1997 and Kosovo in 1999 where he was the Close Reconnaissance Troop leader for the initial operation. He spent much of the following ten years deployed to Iraq, Afghanistan and the broader Middle East.

From 2014 to 2016, he served as the Military Assistant and Private Secretary to the Prime Minister, working for both David Cameron and Theresa May. In 2017, he took command of the UK’s high readiness Air Manoeuvre formation, 16 Air Assault Brigade. A tour as Head of the Joint Plans Capability area within Finance and Military Capability in MOD Main Building then followed. In March 2021 he took up the role of Assistant Chief of the General Staff.

His current role, which he began last summer, sees him in command of high readiness soldiers, sailors and aviators on operations globally.

Feedback from 2022

‘It was a fabulous day. Very interesting, very well supported and very well marshalled. I wanted to thank you and all the volunteers who made the day such a success. It was my first visit to Sandhurst and it was a privilege to be given a tour by such a knowledgeable veteran who really brought the tour alive.’ Keith

‘We just wanted to applaud yourselves, the Combat Stress team, the Guides and RMA team for a fantastic event today. What a great atmosphere throughout.’ Fi
