Combat Stress awarded the Pride in Veterans Standard

Latest Stories

We’re proud to announce that Combat Stress has been awarded the Pride in Veterans Standard, for visibly demonstrating our commitment to providing the highest standards of inclusive and welcoming support to LGBT+ veterans and their families.

This is testament to our understanding of the experiences of LGBT+ veterans, and how this may impact them accessing our treatment and support.

We continue to be ready and able to provide services in a supportive and empathic way that meets the specific needs of our LGBT+ community, and it is particularly poignant to us to receive this honour during Pride Month.

We would like to remind all veterans, and their loved ones, that we are here to support you, regardless of gender, sexuality, race or beliefs.

Our helpline, 0800 138 1619, is available 24 hours a day for confidential advice and support.

Fighting With Pride

The Pride in Veterans Standard is run by LGBT+ military charity, Fighting With Pride, that has lived experience and knowledge to support organisations wanting to develop or improve their LGBT+ welcome and support services.

Receiving this award demonstrates an organisations commitment, and LGBT+ Veterans, serving personnel and families will be more confident approaching support organisations where they see the marker that assures them of a welcome reception.

We look forward to working together in the coming months. To find out more, visit Pride in Veterans Standard (PiVS)
