Corps Security cycle challenge raises over £10,000 for Combat Stress

Latest Stories

An intrepid team of cyclists from Corps Security cycled a staggering 750 miles and climbed around 32,000 feet, to raise over £10,000 for Combat Stress.

The core team of six riders, who were joined by colleagues doing individual legs, covered the distance in just 7 days. Starting from their Glasgow office on 22 April, their route took them past various branches and parts of the Lake District, the Yorkshire Dales and the Brecon Beacons along the way to their finish line at their London HQ in Farringdon.

The team had to overcome terrible weather conditions, battling strong winds and even snow at the high altitude, an impromptu ice-cold swim across a ford, as well as bike problems and severe fatigue.

Rob Hill, Commercial Director Corps Security (and one of the cycle team), said; “With Corps’ military connections, the company is always very supportive of colleagues raising funds for military charities.

“In 2013, we cycled the length and breadth of the country, so 10 years later we thought we’d do it again!”

“We see first-hand the impact that PTSD and other mental health issues have in the daily lives of our colleagues, so being able to contribute, to enable those vital services to be offered to greater numbers of men and women who are suffering as a result of serving their country just gives us a tremendous sense of pride and purpose”.

Garry Burns, Senior Head of Corporate Partnerships and Events at Combat Stress, said; “We are incredibly grateful to Corps Security for taking on this challenge and for their continued support over the past six years.

“Their efforts have had a profound positive impact on the veteran community, and have helped us to continue changing the lives of those struggling with complex mental health problems”.

Congratulations to the Corps Security team for completing their gruelling challenge!
