Mountpark charity event raises £54,000 for Combat Stress

Latest Stories

One of our corporate supporters, Mountpark, the UK’s leading logistics and commercial property firm in London, held their annual charity football match on Thursday 18 May at Loftus Road stadium, the home of EFL Championship side Queens Park Rangers, in Shepherds Bush, West London.

The match pitched the company team against the Industrial Agents’ Society. An entertaining affair saw ‘Mountpark All Stars’ emerging as 3-1 winners over the ‘AS All Stars’.

The event raised an incredible £54,000 for Combat Stress, a figure that will really help us to continue providing our specialist support to veterans with complex mental health problems. It also means that, to date, they have raised £130,000 for the charity.

After the match Olympian Tessa Sanderson spoke of her time as Team GB’s Gold medal winning Javelin thrower.

Philip O’Callaghan, Managing Director, Mountpark UK and Ireland then thanked all the event’s sponsors, QPR and everyone who had worked hard to make the evening a success.

Darren Jackson, one of our Regional Fundraisers, had the opportunity to close the event with a few words about Combat Stress, and express our thanks to everyone for the incredible donation they made:

“On behalf of Combat Stress and the veterans we treat, I would like to thank Mountpark for their continued, and incredibly generous, support.

“As the UK’s leading charity for veterans’ mental health, we provide specialist treatment and support to former servicemen and women with complex mental health issues arising from military service. This donation will ensure veterans can receive the help they need from us to rebuild their lives.”
